We recognise students have different career guidance needs at different stages, and we have tailored our careers provision to ensure that all students receive the best guidance and support, so they can make informed decisions and plan for their future careers.
In Years 7–11, students learn about the world of work and the various routes and options that are available to them through careers lessons that are delivered with the ARRK programme and, also, through careers-focused drop-down mornings. Students can also access individual careers interviews that are conducted by GP Careers.
In order to give our students the opportunities to learn about work, employment and the skills that are needed to succeed in the workplace, we work effectively in partnership with other educational establishments, employers and external providers. This is done through a range of enrichment activities including: careers fairs, external visits, guest speakers and work experience opportunities.

This will include opportunities to discuss career aims and the options available after their GCSEs (post-16 & post-18). Alternatively, please email derbyshirec@holderness.academy.
Our Lead Practitioner – Early Careers, Ms Lovel, is also available to provide career guidance and support to students. To speak to Ms Lovel or arrange an appointment, please email lovelj@holderness.academy.
