Barcelona Football Tour 2012

During October half term the College took 32 boys from Years 8-6th form to Barcelona. The boys were lucky enough to watch Espanyol play Malaga in the league and also visited the Nou Camp for a stadium tour. Spare time was spent lounging by the pool and playing beach football!

The boys where split into 2 teams to play matches against local club teams. The standard of football was exceptionally high. The year 8 team lost the first match 4-2 with goals coming from Sam Brown and Keiran Warrington. In the second game the boys put a tremendous performance in winning 5-0. Kerian Warrington scoring all 5! In the third and final game the team lost 6-1 against a very strong side.

The year 9 team also lost the first game 4-2 to C.D Cassa. The team took an early lead through Josh Young but poor defending and passing resulted in Cassa scoring 4 quick goals. In the second match versus U.E Breda the team put a much improved performance but ended up losing 3-2 due to terrible refereeing decisions. In the third and final game the team beat Sant Celoni  2-1 with goals from Josh Young and Tom Attwood.

Overall the trip was a huge success with all involved having an excellent term. Paris or Greece next year!
