I arrived at South Holderness School in September 1971, the swimming pool was about to open. The vision of the headmaster Mr Frith and the parents of the school to raise funds to enable this to happen has never been regretted. The whole community has benefited for almost 40 years. The college has 100% success in teaching pupils to swim and many have achieved national and international honours.
The pool is, as you are aware, open to full community use.

We now have the opportunity to further enhance the facilities by building a state of the art latest design 3G Floodlit Pitch for use by students during the day for teaching a variety of sports; and the local community out of school hours.

This exciting project has the full backing of the LA, the Football Foundation, and local football clubs. The development will also include additional changing facilities to allow increased use of the grass pitches at the college. This centre will be the focal point for soccer development in this area, building on the opportunities that already exist with more and better facilities for training, coach education and participation at all levels.

The project will cost in the region of £1.2 million. We are already well on the way to reaching this target, but there is a shortfall that we need to raise before next summer. The college will be staging a number of events to raise money and your support would be greatly appreciated.

In addition, if you feel that you are able to contribute direct to the fund or can help in any way please contact me at the college. Contributions from the business community may be tax deductible.
The fundraising will begin in the college with non uniform days when students are being asked to wear sports kit. These will be a monthly feature throughout the year involving students directly supporting the project.

Your support is greatly appreciated.
