Admissions

Your success in Year 11 is a good guide to your possible success in Advanced level courses. You should understand that several GCSE’s at grades A*, A, B or C, are essential in order to support your studies and to give you a sound base on which to build.

Students entering the Sixth Form should have a minimum of 5 grade A*-Cs* at GCSE, including Maths and English, to follow Advanced Level courses. Generally students study four subjects plus General Studies in Year 12 and then continue with three subjects plus General Studies in Year 13. We do not lay down formal entry requirements for our vocational courses but we would normally expect students to have grade E in English and Mathematics.

* Please note that we are referring to 4 full grade A*-Cs which would also be equivalent to 3 full grade Cs and 2 Cs from short courses.

CWRS Trust

South Holderness Technology College is fortunate in being a beneficiary from a scholarship trust in the name of Cecil William Rutherford. The trust marks a family association with Newland St John Church of England Primary School in Hull and ourselves. Cash awards can be applied for by students aged 16 to 18, to study (full or part-time) in areas broadly associated with electricity, building, architecture, medicine, health studies and related subjects.

The Scholarship can only be awarded after the qualifying course has been started.
