All specialist schools when they are first designated are required to raise £50,000 from sponsorship. Although it is 10 years since we went through this process, we are always interested in working with anyone who can provide sponsorship through direct funding or through offering services in order to enrich the education provided for our students. Our emphasis as a Technology College is in Science, Design, Maths and ICT. We also hope to attract sponsorship from businesses involved in the rural dimension.

Powell Plastics
This local company has been operating as precision injection moulders for 25 years. Using 19 moulding machines with 24 hour technical backup they produce a diverse range of items from paintbrush handles to video cassette cases which are distributed to all the leading supermarket chains in the UK and abroad.
One of their key product ranges is in the provision of storage solutions many of which are being used as containers for recycling. As part of the sponsorship the company have provided a range of items so that we can realise our aim to recycle more.For information about the products click here
The Kitchen Composter is manufactured by Powell Plastics and is currently being used in the Food Technology rooms.

This Leeds based company is Europe's leading supplier of recycling containers. Straight plc was established in 1993 as a supplier of container solutions for source separated waste. Initially one man and a desk, the company grew to become the UK's leading supplier of kerbside recycling boxes as well as a key supplier of other types of waste and recycling container solutions.
In 2005, Straight acquired Blackwall Limited, the UK's largest supplier of home composters and water butts. Since integrating the two businesses, Straight now provides a wide range of waste and recycling solutions to local authorities, the waste industry and general businesses. Hedon Salads Ltd is a privately owned company founded in 1993 by Tony Magistro, and Tom Salmon. Tony is our Executive Director and Tom our Managing Director.
Together they identified an opportunity in the market place for the supply of top quality fresh produce. Their mission was to offer customers a wide range of quality produce from a single source, while maintaining total control from seed through to delivery
With three production sites all based in Yorkshire and sited on the main East-West Motorway, our fleet of chilled distribution trucks and logistics team can ensure the freshest quality produce can be delivered anywhere in the UK.
Since its formation the company has expanded through organic growth and acquisition and now forms one of the largest produce companies in the UK.
The company employs over 400 staff and was the first company in the UK Horticulture business to achieve the Investors in People standard in 1995.
Hedon Salads Ltd consists of three sites.
Newport is the principal site and head office. It is the main production and distribution centre for the company. The 16-acre greenhouse produces green, yellow and orange peppers under our strict production and technical controls.
Burstwick is dedicated to cucumber production in a purpose built and utilises lighting within the 30-acre facility. This enables us to produce the highest quality; again under our own management controls.
North East Growers, our newest and largest addition has undergone a £6.0m redevelopment to improve the heating and irrigation systems. Primarily aubergines and red peppers are grown at this 36-acre site.
